3. Website use

You agree to use the www.transformenglish.com website legally and respectfully and not to interfere with its operation or the experience of other users.

You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems or servers;

  • upload or distribute viruses, malware or other harmful code;

  • interfere with the functionality or security of the website;

  • use bots, scrapers or similar automated systems to access or reproduce content without permission;

  • submit false information or impersonate another person;

  • misuse contact, registration or payment forms;

  • use the website to harass, abuse or threaten others;

  • use the website or its content for unlawful, misleading or unauthorised commercial purposes.

Access may be restricted or blocked where these Terms are breached.

4. Purchases and payments

The price, payment arrangements and what is included will be shown before you make a purchase.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Transform English does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Your purchase is confirmed once your payment has been successfully completed and you receive confirmation.

Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be shown before payment.

You are responsible for providing accurate contact and payment information when making a purchase.

5. Refunds and cancellations

Payments are normally non-refundable once the applicable statutory cancellation period has ended, unless a different refund arrangement was stated when you purchased.

If you buy a Transform English service online as a consumer, you will normally have a legal right to change your mind and cancel your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.

You will usually be given access to the service and any included materials soon after you purchase. If you cancel within the 14-day period after you have already started using the service, the amount refunded may take into account the part of the service you have already received, where permitted by law.

Different rules may apply to digital content provided immediately after purchase. Any additional agreement or acknowledgement required for this will be dealt with as part of the purchase process.

To cancel during the 14-day period, email catherine@transformenglish.com and clearly state that you wish to cancel your purchase.

These Terms do not affect any other consumer rights you have under applicable law.

In exceptional circumstances, Transform English may choose to offer a refund, credit or another arrangement after the cancellation period has ended. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis and is not an automatic entitlement.

6. Transform English Community membership

The Transform English Community is an ongoing professional community for English and CLIL teachers.

Membership includes professional development activities, English practice, live sessions, resources, discussions, Community spaces and opportunities to connect with other teachers. The exact programme may vary from month to month.

You can choose monthly or annual membership. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual billing period unless you cancel it.

You can cancel at any time. You will not be charged again, and your membership will continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. Payments already made are normally non-refundable.

The Community runs throughout the year, but the rhythm varies. August is a lighter month, with a break from the usual programme while many members are on holiday. Your Community membership and access continue as normal during August.

From time to time, I may make reasonable changes to the Community programme, schedule, activities or the platforms we use. If I make a significant change to the Community service you are paying for, I will let you know.

You will have access to Community materials and spaces while your membership is active. Access normally ends when your paid membership period ends.

7. Transform English Projects and fixed-term programmes

Transform English Projects are supported, fixed-term professional development programmes. They include practical teaching ideas, English practice, reflection, live sessions, independent activities and opportunities to connect with other teachers.

The dates, duration, content, price and what is included in each Project will be explained on the relevant sales or information page.

A Transform English Project also includes access to the Transform English Community for the period stated on the Project sales page. This Community access ends at the end of that period and does not automatically become a paid Community subscription.

If you would like to continue in the Community afterwards, you will be given the option to join separately.

Your Project place is for you personally and may not be transferred to someone else without prior agreement.

Project fees must be paid before access to the Project is granted.

You will have access to Project materials for the duration of the Project, unless a longer access period is specifically stated. Project materials are provided for online access and may not be downloaded, copied or shared unless a particular resource is specifically made available for download.

8. Free events and activities

Transform English may offer free events, challenges, workshops or other activities.

Specific information about participation, dates, platforms or temporary groups will be provided on the relevant registration page.

Participation in a free event does not create an entitlement to future free services or continued access to event materials or groups.

9. Community participation and conduct

Transform English Communities, Projects and events are intended to provide supportive, respectful professional spaces.

When participating, you agree to:

  • treat other participants respectfully and professionally;

  • respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants;

  • not copy, save, publish or share another participant's personal information, contact details or contributions without their permission;

  • not use Community spaces to send unsolicited promotional or commercial messages;

  • follow any additional reasonable guidelines provided for a particular Community, Project or event; and

  • avoid behaviour that is abusive, discriminatory, threatening, disruptive or otherwise inappropriate.

Depending on the platform being used, your name, profile information or other information associated with your account may be visible to other participants. Relevant information will be provided where necessary.

Transform English reserves the right to remove a participant from a Community, Project, event or associated online space where their behaviour seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms or puts other participants at risk.

Where access is removed because of a serious breach of these Terms, a refund will not normally be provided, except where required by law.

10. Live sessions, recordings and participant contributions

Transform English services may include interactive live online sessions.

Some sessions may be recorded so that participants or Community members can watch them afterwards. Where a session is to be recorded, participants will be informed.

If you participate using your microphone or camera during a recorded session, your voice, image, name or contributions may be included in the recording.

Where practical, you may choose not to use your camera or microphone if you do not wish to appear in a recording. Participation requirements may vary for particular interactive activities and will be explained where relevant.

Recordings made for participant access will not be made publicly available or used for marketing purposes without appropriate permission.

Participants may also choose to submit written, audio or other contributions as part of Projects, Community activities or events. How these contributions and associated personal data are processed is explained in the Transform English Privacy Policy.

Participants may not independently record, reproduce or distribute live sessions or other participants' contributions without permission.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all Transform English website content, courses, videos, session materials, documents, worksheets, prompts, audio content, graphics, resources and downloadable materials are the intellectual property of Catherine Stevenson / Transform English.

Materials are provided for your personal professional use. Access to Project and Community materials does not give you the right to download, copy or reproduce them unless a particular resource is specifically provided for download or classroom use.

You may use relevant materials in your own teaching where this is consistent with their intended purpose.

You may not, without prior written permission:

  • reproduce or distribute Transform English materials to other teachers or organisations;

  • upload them to public websites, shared drives, social media or other platforms;

  • sell, sublicense or commercially exploit them;

  • substantially adapt them for redistribution;

  • reproduce or distribute recordings of Transform English sessions; or

  • represent Transform English materials as your own work.

All rights are reserved.

12. Third-party platforms and services

Transform English uses third-party services to operate the website, process payments, communicate with participants and deliver services.

Use of particular services or platforms may be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies.

Transform English is not responsible for interruptions, outages or changes to third-party platforms that are outside its reasonable control. Where a third-party service becomes unavailable, reasonable efforts will be made to provide an appropriate alternative where this materially affects a Transform English service.

Information about how personal data is processed through third-party providers is provided in the Transform English Privacy Policy.

13. Personal data and privacy

Transform English processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law and the Transform English Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, why it is processed, the services and providers used to process it, how long it may be retained, and your data protection rights.

Acceptance of these Terms does not constitute consent to receive optional marketing communications. Where consent is required for marketing or another particular use of personal data, it will be requested separately.

14. Changes, postponement or cancellation by Transform English

Occasionally, it may be necessary to change the date, format, content or facilitator of a session, event or programme because of illness, technical problems, circumstances affecting participants or other reasonable operational reasons.

Where possible, participants will be informed of significant changes in advance and an alternative session, recording or other reasonable arrangement will be offered where appropriate.

If Transform English cancels a paid Project, programme or event and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, affected participants will be offered an appropriate refund for the part of the service that cannot be provided.

15. Results and professional responsibility

Transform English services are intended to support professional learning, English development, reflection and teaching practice.

Individual outcomes depend on many factors, including participation, experience and professional context. Transform English therefore cannot guarantee particular improvements, professional outcomes, employment opportunities, examination results or other specific results.

You remain responsible for decisions you make about your own teaching, professional practice and use of Transform English materials.

16. Liability

Transform English will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, or affects rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

To the extent permitted by law, Transform English is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the website or participation in its services, or for losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Transform English is not responsible for the content, availability, security or privacy practices of independent third-party websites or services, although reasonable care is taken when selecting services used to deliver Transform English activities.

17. Changes to these Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time, for example if Transform English services change or the law requires an update.

The latest version will always be published on the Transform English website with the date it was last updated.

Changes will not take away contractual or statutory rights relating to purchases you have already made.

If I make a significant change to these Terms that affects an ongoing paid membership, I will let affected members know.

18. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Italian law.

If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also retain the protection of any mandatory consumer-law provisions applicable to you in your country of residence.

Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction provided for under applicable Italian and EU law.
